Kids on the Subway
They make adults smile and look slowly at one another smiling. Others make a nearly audible growl at the sight of them. Either way the effect is strong.
Saturday Morning train
Someone didn't have their morning crap till just now.
Subway
There's a three year old white boy on the platform who is shaking his butt in a blue and white stripped hat and he's shouting,"I like to move it move it! I like to move it move it!" Like he was born to perform it.
The French
They've taken over every city I go to. It's as though I go to France everyday and retreat to America. It feels like when I lived in France.
Bad Day
and I got yelled at by the bus driver.
What a bitch she was.
New Apartment
So cute, so clean, so toxic. I knew I had to leave the house when I was having a staring contest with Marilyn and she winked at me.
Eye twitch
My left eye spazes out of control 20-100 times a day.
I used to fake a nervous twitch and now I've got one.
Owning Money
It's giving me an eye twitch
Thought processes on the subway
I love catching strangers when they are so in their heads they don't realize their faces are going through all the emotions their minds mirror.
I just caught a girl make herself smile.
I wrote this when I was drunk
Do you ever want to scream? Yeah fine we all do
but do you ever get the urge to scream out across a long distance to someone,"Your haircut blows! It makes you look bald!"To someone who has a perfectly good head of hair but has done it a terrible injustice.
Sometimes I get this sensation.
Or once I wanted to scream, "I thought you had the worst varicose veins I've ever seen since old ankles in france but it's just your tights with a spaghetti pattern!"
Why I wonder why is it so hard to imagine yourself at a distance. I know it is
that moment when you part ways
And this person you know and love is across the platform and they haven't seen you and you for the first time really see them in another light with that look on their faces that strangers have. That look you hope to never see from them, that look of indifference.
Marshalls
He had a tear tattoo, a mango scented candle in his hand and the softest voice when he spoke of the toxic aromas as though they were the loveliest molecules to pass his nose.
He held the candle as though it were an egg of a baby angel and brought it up to his nose. His face softened beyond what he portrayed and he asked me what my favorite was. They smelled awful but I said vanilla.
Medicaid Office
I helped a blind man that only spoke Spanish fill out his application which he kept reading?
Social Security Security Line
There was a black man with no teeth but his smile made up for it.
He had alzheimers or was just pleasantly buzzed. He had a naughty smile,
he wore like normal people wear a frown. He didn't understand a word anyone
was saying in fact his lack of reaction would've caused you to believe he was deaf.
They began to search him. First they found an industrial sized nutcracker in his fancy smoking jacket. Then another tool, large and still in plastic. He acted as clueless as
a baby that doesn't associate the bad smell with their own form. He removed his jacket and put it on the belt. His daughter reached into his pockets to find two brand new watches and a broach with the tags still attached and her eyebrows waved about as she looked at her dad. He just smiled in no particular direction.
